It is possible that either the disease is advanced, and therefore, too much damage to the retina has occurred. Possibly 2 injections is not enough. When anti-VEGF treatments were first introduced, the recommendations were to use them for at least a year. Initially, however, it has been my experience that after 2-3 injections patients can tell if they are getting better. Regarding the pruritis and burning. I'd ask the doctor about possible allergy.
